Kunstdepot Antwerpen

Ein Kunstdepot als Teil des Parks: Das zweigeschossige Archiv wird zur Hälfte von der Erde geschützt und nutzt so das stabile Erdklima zur passiven Klimatisierung. Darüber schwebt ein schlanker Holzbau mit Werkstätten und Büros – zurückhaltend zur Strasse gedreht, offen zum Park. 

Das obere Gebäude minimiert seine Präsenz im öffentlichen Raum, indem es die Durchlässigkeit der Parklandschaft erhält und sich in die bestehende landschaftliche Struktur einfügt. Materialien wie Stampflehm sowie Regenwassernutzung und Geothermie unterstreichen den nachhaltigen Anspruch.

Ein sichtbares Depot, ein offenes Café und ein überdachter Platz schaffen Transparenz und neue Begegnungsräume für alle Lebewesen im Pomppark.

An art storage building as part of the park: The two-storey archive is partially embedded in the ground, taking advantage of the stable earth climate for passive temperature regulation. Above it floats a slender timber structure housing workshops and offices – modestly oriented towards the street, open towards the park.

The upper building minimizes its presence in the public space by preserving the permeability of the park landscape and integrating into the existing natural structure. Materials such as rammed earth along with rainwater harvesting and geothermal energy, emphasize the project’s sustainable approach.

A visible depot, an open café, and a covered plaza foster transparency and create new spaces for encounter and interaction for all living beings in the Pomppark.
