Generalsanierung Gasteig

Mit dem Wettbewerbsbeitrag zum Umbau des Gasteigs soll der neue Konzertsaal der Münchner Philharmonie ein neues Gesicht zur Stadt erhalten. Volumetrisch wird die Fassade beim Kopfbau stark beruhigt und vertikal gegliedert. Mit der großzügigeren Verglasung und den fassadenbündig formulierten Dachgeschossen wird eine klare Ausrichtung zur Stadt gesucht. Neu sind über Innenhöfe belichtete Dachgeschosse entstanden, die Charme und Ruhe durch den neu gestalteten grünen Dachlandschaftsgarten gewinnen. Die Topographie der Dachlandschaft führt das Thema der vorhandenen Lichthöfe weiter und referenziert auf den Außenbereich des Erdgeschossniveaus. Durch die neu gewählte, feingliedrige Dachkonstruktion kann das neue Dachrestaurant mit einem zur Stadt ausgerichteten Aussenbereich direkt über dem Konzertsaal zu liegen kommen.

Durch die Deckung der bislang offenen Passarelle in Richtung U-Bahnstation entsteht eine großzügige Eingangshalle, die beidseitig vom Platz wie auch von der U-Bahnstation erreicht werden kann und somit zum neuen Dreh- und Angelpunkt der Anlage wird.

Die für den Ort prägende, monumentale Höhenüberwindung von der Ludwigsbrücke auf das Plateau des Gasteig wird neu ausformuliert. Künftig führt eine breite Rampentreppe die Besucher zur Platzfäche des Haupteingangs.

Für den bestehenden Konzertsaal des Gasteigs wird ein Umbau vorgeschlagen. Der vorgeschlagene Saalentwurf ist bezüglich Volumen und Sitzplatzzahl mit dem heutigen Saal vergleichbar. Durch die zentraler angelegte Bühne verringern sich die Sicht- und Hörabstände für alle ZuhörerInnen auf günstige Masse (< 30m), und durch die neue Saalgeometrie entsteht eine fast ideale Weinberggeometrie welche alle Plätze mit nützlichen Refexionen versorgen kann.

With the competition entry for a conversion of the Gasteig, the new concert hall of the Munich Philharmonic is to be given a new face to the city. Volumetrically, the head of the façade is reassured and vertically structured. With generous glazing, the attics are formulated flush to the façade and seek a clear orientation towards the city. The new attics illuminated via the inner courtyards gain charm and tranquillity through the newly designed green rooftop landscape. The topography of the rooftop landscape continues the theme of the existing atriums and references the outside area of the ground floor level. Due to the newly selected, delicate roof construction, the rooftop restaurant can be located directly above the concert hall with an outdoor area facing the city.

By covering the previously open pedestrian area in the direction of the subway station, a spacious entrance hall will be created which can be accessed from both sides of the square and the subway station, thus becoming the new hub of the complex.

The formulated feature of the place, a monumental height negotiation from the Ludwigsbrücke to the Gasteig plateau will be newly reformulated. In future, a wide ramped staircase will lead the visitors to the main entrance.

For the existing concert hall of the Gasteig, a reconstruction is proposed. The proposed hall design is comparable to the current hall in terms of volume and number of seats. The central stage reduces the viewing and listening distances for all listeners to favourable measurements (< 30m) and the new hall geometry creates an almost ideal vineyard geometry, which provides all seats with useful reflections.
