Der Innovationspark In Dübendorf bei Zürich erhält mit den „Gemelli Diversi“ — den ungleichen Zwillingen — zwei Leuchttürme im Sinne der ganzheitlichen Betrachtung von technischer Innovation, klimagerechtem Bauen und architektonischem Ausdruck.
Beiden Bauten ist eine klare Struktur und Organisation gemeinsam: Während die HALL geradezu prototypisch ihr Inneres komplett freiräumt und dazu gar die Stützen und Träger nach aussen stellt, lebt das TECH von einer dynamischen Innenwelt, die zwischen flexibel bespielbaren Splitlevel-Geschossen ein kommunikatives Atrium aufspannt. In beiden Fällen prägt neben ressourcenschonenden und rezyklierbaren Materialien wie Naturstein, Holz und Stahl eine über den Tages- und Jahresverlauf optimierte Photovoltaik-Fassade das Erscheinungsbild. Beide Typen verfolgen organisatorisch das Konzept einer grossen Flexibilität, die über viele Jahre hinweg die Anpassbarkeit an sich verändernde Anforderungen garantiert. So bietet die HALL einen stützen- und hindernisfreien Grundriss auf beiden Geschossen, bei dem bei Bedarf sogar die als eigenständige Strukturen positionierten Erschliessungs- und Technikräume angepasst werden können. 

Das TECH bietet Unternehmen und Forschungsgruppen verschiedener Grössen alle möglichen Grundrisslayouts. Dabei liegt der Fokus auf einer lebhaften Mitte, die Blickkontakte, Sichtbezüge und informellen Austausch zwischen den hier Arbeitetenden fördert.

Die für beide Typen prägenden Granitsäulen rahmen jeweils die offenen, freien Volumen der Gebäude. Sie erden und rhythmisieren den sonst filigran umhüllten Raum. Die transluzenten, trapezförmigen Fassadenpanele lassen die Gebäude leicht und durchscheinend erscheinen und verweisen auf ihre stormproduzierende Funktion.

With the „Gemelli Diversi“ – the unequal twins – the Innovation Park in Dübendorf near Zurich has two beacons in the sense of a holistic view of technical innovation, climate-friendly construction and architectural expression. Both buildings have a clear structure and organization in common: while the HALL is almost prototypical in that it completely frees up its interior and even places the columns and beams on the outside, the TECH lives from a dynamic interior world that spans a communicative atrium between flexibly playable split-level floors. In both cases, the appearance is characterized by resource-saving and recyclable materials such as natural stone, wood and steel as well as a photovoltaic façade that is optimized over the course of the day and year. In terms of organization, both types follow the concept of great flexibility, which guarantees adaptability to changing requirements over many years. For example, the HALL offers a floor plan on both storeys that is free of columns and obstacles, and even the access and technical rooms, which are positioned as independent structures, can be adapted if necessary. 

TECH offers companies and research groups of various sizes all kinds of floor plan layouts. The focus is on a lively center that promotes visual contact, visual references and informal exchange between the people working here.

The granite columns that characterize both types frame the open, free volumes of the buildings. They ground and give rhythm to the otherwise delicately enveloping space. The translucent, trapezoidal façade panels make the buildings appear light and translucent and refer to their storm-producing function.
